Thinking about the last months

This is the last blog of the year and and my university life too( well this is the last English class I have).

Having this subject, was not the best, the timing is just bad.. no one can wake up so early to come to class at 8.30 am twice a week when mostly everyone goes to bed around 2 am , 4 am or if they get to go to bed. unfortunately I couldn't learn much this semester as I did last semester, maybe it's because I'm used to have a different way of learning... learning from the board, repeating a thousand times, and mostly that they teach me that first goes the adjective then comes the verb and so.. I understand it more, not like the way that they explain what I get at the time but I can't keep it, it makes me sad because it's an important subject and it's very important to keep on studying it, there quite a few theatrical text that aren't in Spanish and we must to have to translate it.

At the beginning using Blog was a bit complicated, actually I am not very into the latest technology, I use the computer just to see my emails,do my work on word and learning how to use Blog was such a challenge jajjaa... but it's fair to say that we can still practice it, i don't know if what I write is good or bad, I always end up giving it to my friends that know more English so they can check it and but well they don't really end up teaching me all of it.. but they try...

I don't really practice English very often, I listen to Spanish music, I don't watch English TV so the closest thing I have to practice it is here, and well at home no one speaks English, therefore it gets a bit harder to practice and keep learning it. however I think that I have a good pronunciation but it's hard for me to make fluent sentences and grammar don't even talk about it!. that i have to keep on trying much harder.
Oh wells this semester will be coming to an end soon, and I had to learn more, the problem at the beginning waqs mine, coming to class late, do the things at the very last minute etc.. I regret not taking this course more seriously .., but in the future I will make time to actaully learn this Language because it's very important :/

My year 2013!

This yeas has been much motivated than the others, therefore very tiring too.

One of the good things, that I've liked the most and that I've felt much happier is that I did my apitherapy course, it was a full on semester where I had met people that was also interested in bees and natural medicine as I was, It had been a long time since I had not done anything but University's assignments and these has distracted so much from all the stress of the studies. the pretty in all of these, is that we had all become good friernds, and we visit eacither often, sometimes we make plans for the weekend, and we are always sending eachother information to keep on learning. Another good thing about this year is that I'm still with my boyfriend and I feel his companionship, loved, cared and supported by all those beautiful people jajaja.

The bad about this year, well.. at the beginning of August I had an appendix operation but apart from being about two weeks out of University and I've lost 4 kgs, the amount of monet was tooooo expensive, it was about 3 million pesos that now I have to find a way to pay it.. and because of these, thus has caused me a disorganization with all my studies, and now I'm risking a few papers and that makes me sad, I have not had a good time this semester, so I have been going to the psychiatry ti help me out with the magic pills! (although they do not help much) I try to keep calm, but my teachers are not helping much either jajaj.

This is the last week of class and I hope that this year ends as soon as possible!!

My birthday

Every year I put a lot of effort in the celebration of my birthday, mostly of times I make a little barbecue in the university and buy a lot of beer to share with my classmates and the friendly actors. Sadly, this year I couldn’t celebrate the way I like, right now we have so many works and essays to do that I didn’t have enough time to prepare something big, so we just met with a few of my friends in the cafeteria of the university talking and drinking a little.

To compensate this, right now I’m preparing another celebration, this time in my house, so I can invite ex-classmates from school, my actual classmates in the university and the friends that I have made in my life and doesn’t relate with this last two. I’m really excited about this, right now my mom is travelling (she is in London), so my grandma offered to make a really big and tasteful cake for me!

Even though my celebration wasn’t what I expected, still I have a lot of surprises, a friend that I haven’t seen in a lot of time came to visit and we chat and laugh for hours, also a lot of my ex classmates call me, wishing good fortune for my life. The best thing of all was the gift I received from my beloved one, he gave me a circular saw!!!, even though everybody laughs because of the metaphoric interpretation, this tool will be really helpful when I need to make an scenography, or other things like furniture. It wasn’t actually a bad birthday, but anyway, next year will be something big :) !

Learning outside university

About two years ago, a designer and scenary technician agroupation was born, the ADTRES. This association has as its goal to appear as an important part of theater as it is normal to see the name of the actors, directors and writers but it is very rare to see designers ever credited. Even the awards given by the academy are never given to the designers, as they only focus on the mentioned group of people. The theatrical designers of any type are completely forgotten. This is why the association was created, among other things, to attain some presence in the media.

Anyhow, they have actually made progress and have imparted several courses along the year thanks to a FONDART they won, among them a scenary one they are imparting this year, which I took. It's really good! We began in early August and we are almost 40 people already. We attend twice a week: Tuesdays from 18:00 to 22:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00. What's fun about this is that we have our lessons on the theaters themselves and we build stuff every Saturday, so it is not like a normal university lesson where you have to sit, pay attention and take notes about how things would be. This is real hands-on work. We see the different tools and their uses; we examine materials and their qualities, etc... The teachers are designers who graduated from this very university. They are young but they are constantly working. We can watch at least 5 to 6 of their plays a year. They are either working on theaters or working in other areas of the arts such as cinema or tv. Their works are really good, of excellent quality.

The classes finish in three weeks more, and I think I've learned way more than in regular university lessons. I hope these type of agroupations continue to exist because they benefit everyone

The environment we live in

Nowadays it is fashionable for the regular citizen to care about the environment. Honestly, the human being as a race is making little to no effort to care about the environment as a whole. In some cities, smog levels grow so high that it becomes impossible to survive in them. Noise pollution afflict people with stress and the busy city life leaves us with little time to care about living a cleaner and healthier life.

Regardless, there are people who, without leaving much aside, make an effort to keep the air clean and I am one of them. I have a friend who's part of a recycling ONG and has attempted to make me join but, I haven't been able to participate. Anyhow, he has taught me some practical techniques that I do put in practice, such as clasifying trash; paper on the one side, vegetables on another and plastics on another bag...we take plastic bottles to a friend's since he has a project to turn them into bio-bricks, which are plastic bottles which nobody uses anymore and people place trash inside in order to build things with them. We also use low consume light bulbs and we unplug everything before leaving home, except the fridge of course, for obvious reasons. We have a car but only mom uses it to go to work and some other ocations, such as when we visit my grandma and we don't have much time. On other ocations, we use public transport...and also to save money. I'd love to use my bicycle to go wherever I wanted, but I live very far away from everywhere, and I think only a sportsman would be able to go from Puente Alto to the city center...and I'm no athlete myself.

Chile should be wary of pollution such as in Mexico or China. Without laws, it won't be possible.
